Kinja'd!!!

So apparently it’s the oppocalypse and it’s one last blast before we’re no more, figured I might as well join in on the fun.

I was introduced to Jalopnik in early 2009 during my first year of college by a good high school friend. Like almost everyone, I was a lurker before I decided to start commenting; that was in May of 2009. I honestly don’t remember when I found oppo or #oppositelock as it was at that time. I think it was sometime in late 2009 early 2010 to be honest. I remember when the commenting system was changed to 5.0, and you could still use the ca.oppositelock.jalopnik.com site to get around 5.0. I remember stars and in fact was one of the few people that earned their stars on oppo, IIRC you had to be on the FP to earn one. That brings me to what is still probably my greatest post:

This was when it became apparent that SR20 didn’t actually have a Lotus and had been lying about it. I had just finished summer finals and as my reward to myself I hit the junkyards, I got As in both my classes that summer, I deserved it. I thought of this gem on the way home.

I also called myself e30m3 back than, not because I had one, but because I couldn’t think of a decent username. Since I really wanted and M3, figured I might as well name myself after the original, as you can see I have since updated it with the car I currently have.

After that I was on less frequently as I moved into my fraternity house after that summer semester and was busy with 4 chemical engineering classes and being a college kid. I still liked oppo, but you know life gets in the way.

When kinja first came out, it was shit. The commenting format was changed up, I believe you had to hit next to see more comments on an oppo post. I wasn’t going to deal with that shit, I went on an indefinite hiatus.

During that time I was a field engineer for a major oil field service company doing fracturing. To put it shortly, I was a frac engineer working in the eagle ford shale. This was me on Christmas in 2014, yes I worked Christmas.

Kinja'd!!!

The cat was part of a long running inside joke.

Anyways, I lost that job in April of 2016 thanks to the downturn in oil prices. !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! Since I needed something to help fill the void left by my old job, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!!

You’ve heard about my job searching experience and my experience selling my 128i.

I also thought this was one of my better posts, !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . I actually spent a decent amount of time on that.

Kinja'd!!!

Anyways, I hope we’re still here in a week. If not, it’s been real, thanks.
